Omar Guzman, MD

  • Undergrad: UC Irvine
  • Medical School: UC Irvine PRIME-LC
  • Residency: UCSF-Fresno Emergency Medicine Residency
  • Visalia area highlight: Being able to serve the community I grew up in and take my kids to the historic cross town rivalry football game between Redwood and Mt Whitney. Ranger Pride!
  • Kaweah ED highlight: I was welcomed into this EM family from Day 1. I am proud of our EM team, the EM physicians we are training here and the mission of our program.

  • Proudest personal moment: The birth of my kids. They are my inspiration and fill me with happiness even in the hardest moments. A close second was calling my parents to tell them I got into Medical School
  • Proudest professional: Coming home and joining the Kaweah Health EM residency program, being named Faculty of the year 2018, being asked to be the keynote speaker for Doc Band and Mi Mentor, being accepted to speak about our street medicine project at a national conference, Inducting our first Central Valley Doctors Academy Class.
  • Special interest (s): Pre Medicine Pipeline Projects, Addressing the Social Determinants of Health, Mentoring
  • If you knew me you’d know: I embrace the values of the central valley: strong work ethic, strong family, and ganas
  • Favorite Visalia activity: Friday Night Football and the Christmas parade
  • Why live in Visalia: Great place to raise a family, close to everything, great community
  • If I couldn’t be a physician, I’d: be a superhero
