  • Proudest of, professional: Interacting with patients on a personal basis
  • Special interest (s): Physical fitness, family activities, and military history
  • If you knew me you’d know: That the US Navy reinforced the qualities of hard work, discipline, and dark humor which comprise many of my core values
  • Favorite Visalia activity: Tending to my backyard fruit orchard
  • Why live in Visalia: Great community, friendly, low cost of living, no traffic, great base to enjoy all of California
  • If I couldn’t be a physician, I’d: Be unemployed
  • EM Residents: Taste like chicken (Did I mention my dark humor?)

EM interests me because it captures the essence of many areas of medicine and affords the flexibility needed for personal development. I love interactions with patients and the ability to make the initial diagnosis, aggressively manage acutely painful conditions and perform procedures. Practicing at Kaweah Health gives me high acuity, a grateful patient population, and a strong ED. Through my involvement as a Hospital Board of Trustees member, a past president of the Tulare County Medical Society and other leadership positions, I seek to give back to the community that has given so much to me. My role as the Medical Student Clerkship Director gives me the opportunity to contribute through mentoring and teaching.
