Last November Carmen Robaina, an avid runner and weight lifter, began suffering
from a nagging pain in her shoulder. The nagging pain kept getting worse
until one sleepless night in August she decided she had to be seen. Doctors
discovered that Carmen had several tears in her rotator cuff and surgery
was needed in order to put her on the path to recovery. Following surgery,
Carmen's doctor prescribed physical therapy as a means to reduce the
pain and restore shoulder function so that Carmen could get back to work
and the active lifestyle she enjoyed so much. She had physical therapy
from a different location in the past and was skeptical and a bit nervous
that it wouldn't work for her, but that all changed when she came
to Therapy Specialists.
"I immediately knew it would be different because I noticed how professional
and welcoming Robin and Aubrey were. I knew they had my best interests
at heart," Carmen said.Robin Criner and Aubrey Northern, Physical
Therapists at Therapy Specialists, developed a curriculum for Carmen that
was challenging, thorough and specific to her needs and helped keep her
accountable to ensure she made the most progress in the shortest
