Kaweah Delta And Imagine U Present Sept. 15 "Alice In Wonderland" Interactive Story Time
VISALIA – Kaweah Delta Health Care District and ImagineU Interactive
Children’s Museum will present an “Alice In Wonderland”
story time on Sept. 15 to celebrate the theme of Kaweah Delta’s
upcoming 5th annual Pink Tea Party.
The story time will feature a reading of “Alice In Wonderland,”
the children’s book, along with coloring, themed cookies and more
from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at ImagineU, 210 N. Tipton St., Visalia. The
story time is free with the price of museum admission.
Kaweah Delta’s 5thannual Pink Tea Party is set for Sunday, Oct. 23,
at the Visalia Convention Center, 303 E. Acequia Ave. The event is themed
“Alice in Wonderland,” and will honor those whose lives have
been touched by breast cancer. The event’s keynote speaker will
be Dr. Sheri Prentiss, a physician, national spokesperson for Susan G.
Komen 3-Day, 60-mile walks and author of “When Everything Changed:
My Journey from Physician to Patient.”
Individual tickets are $25, while tables are $200 and can be purchased
by calling 624-2098. Tickets must be purchased in advance of the event.
The event will also include music, opportunity drawings, a photo booth
and a walk of hope rose ceremony honoring those whose lives have been
touched by breast cancer. Roses will be sold for $5 and proceeds from
the sale will go to the Kaweah Delta Foundation’s Lost Girls Mammogram
Fund created by the Lost Girls Motorcycle Club. If a low-income woman,
40 and under, is in need of a mammogram and cannot pay for it, the fund
pays for the mammogram at the Kaweah Delta Breast Center.
Since 2011, the Kaweah Delta Breast Center’s Pink Tea Party has sold
out each year and grown from 100 to 650 attendees. This year, 800 people
are expected to attend.
