Kaweah Delta Welcomes New Nurse Practitioner to Wound Center
VISALIA, CA - Kaweah Delta Health Care District is proud to announce nurse
practitioner Beth Hirsch has joined the team of doctors, nurses, and physical
therapists at Kaweah Delta Wound Center in Visalia. Hirsch is certified
by American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), nationally renowned as
a true gauge of a nurse's ability to provide excellent care. She holds
36 years of experience as a registered nurse in a variety of settings,
and has aided patients as a nurse practitioner for the past 8 years.
Hirsch was born in Ohio, and raised in South Carolina. She attended Rush
University College of Nursing in Chicago, Illinois and later started her
career caring for patients as a registered nurse in 1979. In July of this
year, Hirsch and her husband, Edward, decided to move west to be closer
to their three children who reside in Southern California. Hirsch will
be working under the extension of Dr. Mathew R. Campbell to assist patients
who have non-healing or chronic wounds.
"I find it rewarding to help patients improve or even heal,"
shares Hirsch, "and enjoy the relationships built from the length
of time spent with each patient."
Many patients she sees suffer from diabetes, bone infections, or wounds
caused by trauma. Hirsch will assist patients with wound debridement,
wound care, Doppler evaluation, transcutaneous oxygen therapy, and hyperbaric
oxygen therapy (HBOT). HBOT allows patients to inhale 100% oxygen in a
total body chamber, where atmospheric pressure is increased and controlled,
to enhance the body's natural healing process.
