Kaweah Delta To Host Aug. 12 Pint For Pint Blood Drive
VISALIA – Kaweah Delta Health Care District is hosting its annual
summer blood drive for the Central California Blood Center on Friday,
Aug. 12, in Visalia.
The blood drive will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. inside the Blue
Room (basement) of Kaweah Delta Medical Center, 400 W. Mineral King Ave.
Everyone who donates blood will receive a voucher for a free pint of Baskin
Robbins’ ice cream. Currently, the blood center is experiencing
a blood shortage and is in particular need of the following blood types:
O neg, O pos, A neg, B neg or AB neg. Blood donation takes less than one
hour to complete. Donors must be in good general health, weigh a minimum
of 110 pounds and be at least 17 years old (16 years old with written
parental consent). Senior citizens are encouraged to donate, as there
is no upper age limit. Donors should eat a good meal and drink plenty
of water within 4 hours prior to their donation. Donors can give blood
every eight weeks. Photo ID and Social Security Number are required at
