SCHOLARSHIP FOR VISITING MEDICAL STUDENTS
Kaweah Delta Health Care District's Department (KDHCD) of Graduate
Medical Education is now offering a scholarship to support visiting students
who have shown a committment to serve medically disadvantaged populations.
KDHCD serves healthcare needs of approximately 500,000 people across a
diverse mix of races, ethnicities, income levels, education and health
status. We hope that through this opportunity we can attract and mentor
students that are interested in health equity, advocacy and community
service. Preference will be given to students with ties or experience
working with underserved rural communities. The scholarship is designed
to give unique opportunities for career development, to provide support,
and to defray the cost of travel and fees (i.e. application fees, rotation
fees, etc.).
In addition to the exciting learning opportunties our clerkships offer,
the scholarship awardees will also receive:
- Waived Application Fee
- $1000 for travel and housing costs ( a check will be provided upon arrival)
- Support and guidance from resident and faculty mentors
