April 2018 DAISY Award Winner
Jennifer Dean, RN, Obstetrics
Please join us in celebrating the outstanding achievements of Jennifer
Dean, the recipient of the April 2018 DAISY Award. The DAISY Award For
Extraordinary Nurses is a program adopted by Kaweah Delta to honor the
super-human work nurses do for patients and families every day. Jennifer
was nominated by her patient for exemplifying the values of Kaweah Care.
Submitted by: A patient and her husband.
I would like to nominate Jennifer because she made my stay at Kaweah Delta
a lot easier. She went out of her way to show me that she cares about
her patients. I gave birth to a stillborn baby and she stayed there and
talked to me about it. She didn't have to do anything she did. I believe
that if there was more nurses like her it would be wonderful. This is
the type of person that I would want anybody to be around, that I love.
I do believe she needs to be recognized for her wonderful job that she's
doing not just for me but for others as well. The ones that haven't
said anything to her or haven't even said thank you, I want to say
thank you Jennifer, you're appreciated and you made a big impact on
my life. You've changed my life just from the little time that I got
to spend with you. I know you're a wonderful person and I thank you
from the bottom of my heart for that. I really hope to see you get the
[DAISY] award. You're extraordinary and awesome and you're a person
who cares about your job, that's very rare. I highly, highly nominate her.
Going through the loss of my baby, Jennifer was my angel, no other way
to put it. She is amazing and she’s dedicated to her job. I love
her positive energy she gives. I couldn’t have asked for anyone
better. Jennifer needs to be told everyday she is an inspiration. Her
department is blessed with her. Thank you for making a sad experience
easier for me. There are no words to express my gratitude. You deserve
to be told EVERYDAY you are AMAZING and a true INSPIRATION.
[HUSBAND]: Jennifer was my wife's nurse and I was starting a new job
the next day after my wife gave birth to a stillborn. Jennifer seemed
to help my wife calm down and put her at ease. My wife doesn't talk
about people too much but she talks very highly of Jennifer and that makes
me happy to know in my absence your nurse Jennifer made my wife feel better.
I never got to thank her for doing so. I hope to be able to let her know
how thankful I am for her by this submission. Thank you Jennifer!
To pay tribute to Jennifer for demonstrating exceptional talents, dedication
and service to patients, she received a one-of-kind sculpture and banner
to be displayed in her department for her achievement.
