Services Provided Include:
MRI (Magnetic Resonance Imaging)
MRI Technologists at Kaweah Delta Imaging have over 20 years of experience.
GE's 1.5 tesla Hi Speed Plus MRI with eight channel Excite technology
provides the finest MRI images quickly, accurately, and with extreme detail.
Our "short bore" technology also provides a more comfortable
environment that will make the exam less stressful.
MRI has proven very valuable in diagnosing a broad range of conditions,
including cancer, heart and vascular disease, stroke and musculoskeletal
disorders.
CT Scan (Computed Tomography)
Toshiba's Aquil ion 16 Helical CT is one of the most highly advanced
units available. Highly detailed images are acquired within seconds to
provide our patients the most comfortable experience in CT procedures.
A CT scan can be used to study many parts of your body, such as the chest,
abdomen, pelvis and extremities. It can also acquire images of internal
organs that would otherwise be too hard to see, such as the liver, pancreas,
intestines, kidneys, adrenal glands, lungs, heart and blood vessels.
DIGITAL IMAGING UNITS
Our diagnostic x-ray units are completely digital, film less technology.
An x-ray is taken and within several seconds, the image is on a monitor
and the patient on their way home.
PICTURE ARCHIVING COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS (PACS)
Kaweah Delta Imaging Center is a filmless facility, meaning physicians
can access any films taken at Kaweah Delta Imaging Center or at Kaweah
Delta Medical Center for immediate electronic viewing
on line, at the hospital, their office or their homes. The speed in which
we provide the information for physicians to provide treatment could not
be faster.
ULTRASOUND
Kaweah Delta Imaging Center provides a wide-range of ultrasound services
performed by licensed technologists with more than 23 years of experience.
We feature technology that includes color Aow and Doppler capabilities.
DIGITAL MAMMOGRAPHY
Kaweah Delta Breast Center is home to Visalia's first digital mammography
units. A digital mammogram uses a special detector to capture and convert
x-ray energy into digital data. Digital technology also offers better
visibility of the entire breast. In addition, digital now makes the mammogram
process faster than film and is available to the radiologist electronically
providing instant extremely detailed results.
The combination of full-field digital mammography equipment in conjunction
with the MammoPad breast cushion, dramatically eases the discomfort some
women experience during their exam. This state of the art technology and
added comfort makes Kaweah Delta Breast Center the number one choice for
patients choosing a mammography provider.
BREAST MRI
Added in spring of 2007, Kaweah Delta Imaging Center became the first center
in Tulare County to provide Breast MRI technology.
MRI of the breast is not a replacement for mammography or ultrasound
imaging but rather is a supplemental tool for detecting and staging
breast cancer and other breast abnormalities.
Kaweah Delta Imaging Center's Breast Center is accredited by the FDA
(Food and Drug Administration) and the ACR (American College of Radiology).
We are a softer Mammogram provider and one of only two centers in the
central valley with this designation.

MRI Scanner
GE’s 1.5 tesla Hi Speed Plus MRI with eight channel Excite technology
provides the finest MRI images quickly, accurately, and with extreme detail.
Our “short bore” technology also provides a more comfortable
environment that will make the exam less stressful.
CT Scanner
Toshiba’s Aquilion 16 Helical CT is one of the most highly advanced

provide our patients the most comfortable experience in CT procedures.
Ultra fast scan times, speed, and accuracy. It’s all to give our
patients a more comfortable experience.
Digital Imaging
Our diagnostic x-ray units are pure digital, filmless x-ray technology.
That means that there is no film or heavy cassettes that take valuable
time to process. A chest x-ray is taken, and within several seconds, the
image is on a monitor, and the patient is finished.
Picture Archiving
Picture Archiving Communication Systems (PACS)
Kaweah Delta Imaging Center is a totally filmless facility. Physicians
can access any films taken at Kaweah Delta Imaging Center or at Kaweah
Delta Hospital for immediate electronic viewing online. Physicians at
SRCC can access any images, whether CT, MRI, or x-rays, at the hospital,
their offices, or their homes. The speed in which we provide the information
for physicians to provide treatment could not be faster.
Digital Mammography
Digital Mammography
Kaweah Delta Imaging Center is proud to be the first in Visalia to provide
3D mammography to our community. Digital breast tomosynthesis (tomo),
also known as 3D mammography, is a revolutionary new screening and diagnostic
breast imaging tool to improve the early detection of breast cancer. During
the 3D part of the exam, an x-ray arm sweeps over the breast, taking multiple
images in seconds. Images are displayed as a series of thin slices that
can be viewed by our radiologists as individual images or in a dynamic
interactive animation. 3D mammography is used in combination with 2D digital
mammography. The resulting digital images are immediately available to
the radiologist for diagnosis and are incredibly flexible. Digital technology
also offers better visibility of the entire breast. In addition to a more
flexible image, the new digital system works with ImageChecker, a computer-aided
detection system. The software analyzes the image and highlights areas
on the mammogram that contain features associated with cancer-much like
a second set of eyes for the radiologist reading the mammogram. Breast
localizations, stereotactic biopsies and biopsies utilizing ultrasound
are also completed within this state-of-the-art facility.
DEXA
Bone Densitometry (DEXA)
Bone densitometry, also called dual-energy x-ray absorptiometry or DEXA,
uses a very small dose of ionizing radiation to produce pictures of the
inside of the body (usually the lower spine and hips) to measure bone
loss. It is commonly used to diagnose osteoporosis and to assess an individual’s
risk for developing fractures. DEXA is simple, quick and noninvasive.
It’s also the most accurate method for diagnosing osteoporosis.
This exam requires little to no special preparation. Tell your doctor and
the technologist if there is a possibility you are pregnant or if you
recently had a barium exam or received an injection of contrast material
for a CT or radioisotope scan. Leave jewelry at home and wear loose, comfortable
clothing. You may be asked to wear a gown. You should not take calcium
supplements for at least 24 hours before your exam.
Ultrasound

for obstetrical and general diagnostic patients, by licensed technologists
with more than 21 years of experience. We feature Toshiba ultrasound-imaging
technologies including the state-of-the-art Toshiba Aplio system with
the latest in color flow and Doppler capabilities.
