Kaweah Delta set to host April 19 virtual coronavirus town hall for kids
VISALIA, CA – While adults may feel overwhelmed by all the information
about COVID-19, many children are feeling the same way. Some children
may not understand why they have not been able to be with family, why
they had to attend school remotely, or why they need to wear a mask now
that they are back in school.
To help answer those questions, Kaweah Delta is partnering with Farmersville
Unified School District on a virtual Kids Town Hall from 6-7 p.m. on Monday,
April 19, focused on COVID-19. The event’s guest speakers will include
FUSD Superintendent Dr. Paul Sevillano and Keri Noeske, Kaweah Delta’s
Chief Nursing Officer.
Students from throughout Tulare County can submit their questions to
email@example.com. The event will be live-streamed on Kaweah Delta’s social media
channels, as well as through an online webinar, and is free. The event
is intended for kids, but parents are encouraged to listen in so they
can be prepared to discuss these questions/answers with their children.
“We are getting back to school and opening up sports, but there are
still restrictions that might be confusing to the students. This is a
great opportunity for them to ask questions about those changes,”
said Deborah Volosin, Director of Kaweah Delta’s Community Engagement
Department. “We want them to have a better understanding and a little
more control during this challenging time to be a kid.”
Students can register for the Town Hall at
kaweahdelta.org/students2 or view the event through Kaweah Delta’s social media pages at facebook.com/kaweahdelta
