Kaweah Delta Names Physicians Of The Year
VISALIA – Kaweah Delta has chosen its top physicians of the year
and will honor them at an awards ceremony tonight in Visalia.
The ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 18, at the Visalia
Convention Center, 303 E. Acequia Ave., Visalia. Kaweah Delta’s
top nurses will also be honored during the ceremony. Physicians of the year are:
Physician of the Year
Tariq Javed, MD, a nephrologist and medical director of Kaweah Delta Porterville
Dialysis, has been named physician of the year by Kaweah Delta’s
Nursing Practice Council and Professional Practice Council. Staff members
celebrate his overall commitment to providing quality patient care in
collaboration with the entire health care team. Nurses describe him as
“a good listener, kind, approachable, knowledgeable, and available
to help with any patient care questions or concerns.”
Dr. Javed is a graduate of Allama Iqbal Medical College in Pakistan and
completed an internship and residency at Mount Sinai School of Medicine
in New York, New York. He completed a nephrology fellowship at Ochsner
Clinic Foundation in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Dr. Javed treats and manages kidney disease, kidney stones or renal failure,
chronic urinary tract infections, and other disorders related to the kidneys.
Resident Physician of the Year
Sean Oldroyd, DO, a Kaweah Delta emergency medicine resident, who will
graduate this June, has been named resident physician of the year. He
has been selected by Kaweah Delta’s Nursing Practice Council and
Professional Practice Council. In his nomination, staff celebrated his
overall commitment to quality patient care through collaboration and education.
Nurses described him as “knowledgeable, respectful, calm under stress,
and easy to work with.”
Dr. Oldroyd, is a graduate of Western University of Health Sciences and
is a member of Kaweah Delta’s first emergency medicine residency class.
