Kaweah Delta CEO Announces Departure To Serve Church
After 36 years of service in various capacities at Kaweah Delta, including
over 16 years as chief executive officer, Lindsay Mann and his wife Lesa
have received an unanticipated call from the leaders of the Church of
Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (LDS) to serve as the mission president
and his companion, respectively, in a Spanish-speaking mission.
Mann has accepted this call which will begin July 1, 2017, and will be
for a three-year period. The specific area for Lindsay and Lesa’s
service, either within the U.S. or in a foreign country has not yet been
assigned, but will be during the next two months. In his capacity as a
mission president, Lindsay will organize and direct the missionary efforts
of between 150 and 200 LDS missionaries, the majority of whom are young
men and woman but will also include senior couples serving in humanitarian,
educational, and leadership development roles.
Lindsay indicates that “receiving a call to service as a mission
president is both an honor and a very exciting opportunity. It is a tremendous
responsibility to lead, care for, protect, and inspire the very best in
these missionaries who will dedicate between 18 to 24 months of their
lives in service to God and their fellow man.”
Relative to his service at Kaweah Delta, Lindsay indicates “it has
been a wonderful experience to work with our medical staff, hospital staff,
and board of directors in leading Kaweah Delta from a community hospital
to, now, a bona fide regional medical center and teaching hospital that
increasingly performs at the highest levels in many areas of national
ratings across numerous areas of clinical quality, patient safety and
patient satisfaction.”
Lindsay states that “Our strength comes from the fact that we are
never satisfied with our current levels of performance. We are always
striving to improve and have achieved a culture which is committed to
striving for excellence. We are, indeed, on an ascendant trajectory of
constant improvement.”
