Thinking About Applying?
Welcome to Kaweah Delta Health Care District! As you begin your final year
of medical school, we hope that you will take this opportunity to consider
Kaweah Delta Health Care District's (KDHCD) fourth year elective program.
We invite students who are in good academic standing at accredited medical
schools to participate in this exciting program.
Please see the following information and requirements of our Visiting Learner Program:
Applying: Kaweah Delta Health Care District utilizes both an Electronic Clerkship
Application and VSLO (Visiting Student Learning Opportunties) to receive
visiting student applications. All students (except those currently in
their 3rd year and any International medical students) attending an LCME
accredited U.S. Allopathic or Osteopathic medical school, will submit
applications through VSLO. If your school does not use VSLO please use
the clerkship application found on this site and submit to the Medical
Student Program Coordinator (link and email provided below).

Affiliation Agreements: Kaweah Delta Health Care District has adopted the AAMC standard affiliation
agreement. An approved affiliation agreement must be on file with Kaweah
Delta and the student's medical school. Agreements are good for 5
years. Details will be provided by the Medical Student Program Coordinator
VSLO Visiting Medical Schools: To search Kaweah Delta’s electives on VSLO, first select UC-Irvine
and then select "Kaweah Delta Medical Center" as the campus.
If interested, please submit an application online through the Association
of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Visiting Student Application Service (VSLO).
The following requirements are applicable to all students whether applying
in VSLO or the Electronic Kaweah Delta Health Care District Application:
Application Processing Time: All students are given an initial 45 days to complete their entire application
process unless a shorter time frame is approved based on the start date

current TB and Flu Shot Vaccinations. VSLO applicants must have the completed
AAMC immunization form uploaded into VSLO.

VSLO applicants must pay upon acceptance of the offer in the VSLO system.
The fee of $200 is for each two or four week rotation per student.
