Hospital based Home Health agency employs nursing, physical, occupational and speech therapy, medical social worker and home health aide. Comprehensive medication review and instruction, wound assessment, treatment and teaching, infusion therapy, chronic disease management, palliative care. In a brief statement, from a staff perspective, what is most rewarding about working on your unit?

You are able to provide one-on-one care to the patient with the unique experience of providing care for the patient in their own home environment. We reduce the incidence of re-hospitalization which allows the patient to remain in their own home but receive the needed care. Home Health allows the independence and autonomy that is desired while still fostering a strong sense of teamwork.

Scheduling details:

  • Shifts offered (i.e., 8, 10, 12 hours): 8 hours; 8:30am-5pm
  • Weekend requirements: Some weekends required; nurses in our area typically work every 4th to 5th weekend
  • Holiday requirements: Do not staff on Christmas; 1 major holiday which is done on a rotating per year basis
  • Call requirements: expectation is 3 call shifts in a 6 week period; 5pm-12am. No visits made after 10pm
