We are a postpartum unit who cares for those who have had babies both vaginally and C-section. We receive the transfers to the unit approximately 2 hours post-delivery and provide care through the discharge process. It is an environment where our new moms and babies are cared for together unless separation is medically indicated.
In a brief statement, from a staff perspective, what is most rewarding about working on your unit?
Patient centered care is our focus. It is rewarding to empower new parents by teaching them how to care for their new baby. It is rewarding to guide parents through the process of saying goodbye to their babies who do not live. It is rewarding to see families grow and welcome new members year after year.
