FMC is a graduate medical residency family practice clinic offering the full spectrum of family medicine services. This includes pediatrics, geriatrics, pregnancy, labor & delivery and all ages in between. We offer individualized care, providing extensive education with a focus on wellness and preventative medicine. Our pediatric services include vaccinations and episodic needs. We also offer women’s health preventative services such as gynecological exams and testing, birth control services, obstetrics including delivery services and post-partum care. We are a teaching institution, focused on providing training to family medicine physicians to provide high quality, evidence based, multidisciplinary care while advocating for patient education and access to healthcare for patients of all cultures and walks of life in Central CA.

In a brief statement, from a staff perspective, what is most rewarding about working on your unit?

FMC is a collaborative and learning/teaching environment which lends itself to time spent with our patients providing the highest quality of care. Our clinic environment is not a rushed or hurried; the patient benefits from this due to the extra time spent with all patients and the individual attention residents and staff provide patients.

  • Teaching environment – we are a Graduate Medical Education (GME) clinic for our Family Medicine residency program; the environment lends itself to collaboration, sharing knowledge, & residents looking to staff to learn from

  • Planned expansion (and timeframe): Submitted application for Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC); this designation increases federal funding in order to provide level of service we currently are providing; FMC will remain in the same location and will remain a GME FM residency program
  • Total number of beds in the unit: we have 14 exams rooms; clinic occupies XXXX sq. ft.

Scheduling details:

  • Shifts offered (i.e., 8, 10, 12 hours): 8 hours
  • Weekend requirements: one half-day Saturday every 4-6 weeks

FMC provides procedures in the office setting such as blood sugar testing, urine testing, injections, local surgical procedures (i.e. cyst removal, circumcision), eye exam/vision testing, developmental stage assessment
