Community Engagement Virtual Meeting - Thursday, May 7

  • Question #1: What are your thoughts around Tulare County having all of these nursing home outbreaks? We are not seeing this in other counties and it is very disturbing.- WATCH VIDEO
  • Question #2: A CE member had this experience yesterday. Her son and his girlfriend tried to get a COVID-19 test at the KD Urgent Care on Court Street. They told them at the beginning they did not have a fever, gave their insurance info, they took their vitals, then they waited in their car for over an hour only to be told they did not meet the algorithm and would not be tested.- WATCH VIDEO
    • Shouldn’t they have been told that at the beginning?
    • Why did KD not test them?
    • Is KD’s testing criteria different than the County’s criteria?
  • Question #3: With the outbreak at Ruiz Foods and two new nursing homes added to that list as well, is the hospital concerned about attempting to open up for elective surgeries and other services while our numbers of infected individuals in Tulare County are seeing triple digit per day increases? - WATCH VIDEO
  • Question #4: We understand that hospitals need elective surgeries to produce revenue and it seem we will come to a point when the hospital has to open up that service line in spite of COVID?- WATCH VIDEO
  • Question #5: Planning for current and future patient care coupled with the hospital’s financial position is dependent on forecasting our financial position not only immediately but in future years. The costs associated with COVID have placed a strain on the hospital’s financial position, which was only at a 2% margin last year, how do we determine the best course of action to continue providing for the health care of our community?- WATCH VIDEO
  • Community Question #1 - As we re-open local economy, are we expecting surge?- WATCH VIDEO
