Aquatics
Also included in your membership is the use of the two indoor pools, the 25-yard
lap pool and the warm water therapy pool. Both pools are open to members. Please
be advised that all members swim at their own risk. Aquatic classes take precedents
over other aquatic activities during designated class times.

Aquatics Group Exercise
Class
Descriptions
Aqua Challenge
Challenging conditioning class combining interval training, power moves and
resistance training. Great for cardiovascular fitness and strength. Appropriate
for fit to athletic fitness levels.
Aqua Circuit
A 50 minute class jam packed with intense cardio segments and powerful
muscular strength segments. Instructors will pace you through sprints and intervals
as well as tough resistive exercises. This class guarantees a full body workout!
AquaFit
High intensity aquatic fitness class conducted in cool water pool. Great for
improving cardiovascular fitness and overall tone. Recommended for those in
good physical condition.
Aqua Walk & Stretch
Low to no impact water exercises designed to help improve overall flexibility,
range of motion, balance, strength, and condition levels in addition to decreasing
general pain and stiffness. Excellent for seniors and individuals with limiting
physical conditions, rheumatic conditions or those who have become de-conditioned.
Aquatics 101
A class designed to inform about the properties of water and the benefits
of exercising in the water. The class covers proper technique when using equipment,
ways to vary intensity levels and more. This class is both educational and functional.
Basic Training
High intensity fitness class designed to enhance cardiovascular fitness as well
as muscular strength. A non-stop class format that uses a variety of aerobic
combinations and equipment.
Family Swim
Open swimming time for families. Participants must be at least 6 months old.
The protocols for children in the pool will need to be followed. ( handouts
on protocols are at the front desk )
Kid's Night Out
A fun filled night of movies, activities, pool games, food, and much more. Registration
is required.
Maternity-in-Motion [M-n-M]
Exercise class for women in all stages of pregnancy. All fitness levels welcome.
Individualized intensity level. Physician's release required.
Masters Swim
This program is open to adult swimmers dedicated to improving fitness. It has
been designed to help swimmers improve fitness or train for specific goals (competitive
or non-competitive) and offers active support for a healthy lifestyle. No registration
necessary.
Supervised Swim*
An opportunity to practice general swim skills and swim techniques in a supervised
environment. Must be able to swim 25 consecutive yards (1 pool length). Ages
5 to 16.
Specialized Aquatic Exercise I
Specialized exercises from low to mild intensity to help improve flexibility
and function, while decreasing pain and stiffness. Ideal for seniors and persons
with limited physical conditions.
Specialized Aquatic Exercise II
Specialized exercises from mild to moderate intensity to help improve flexibility
and function. Ideal for seniors and persons with limited physical conditions.
Swim Team Prep - Varsity
This class is designed for swimmers who are interested in improving their stroke
technique. Approximate age 8-14. All participants must know all four competitive
strokes. Class size is limited. Initial instructor assessment is included. $$
Program fees apply. Register in the business office.
Swim Team Prep – Junior
Varsity
This class is designed for swimmers interested in improving stroke technique
and learning the butterfly and breaststroke. Approximate age 6-8. Participants
must know the freestyle and backstroke. Class size is limited. Initial instructor
assessment is included. $$ Program fees apply. Register in the business office.
TLC Afterschool Kidz Klub
A 45-minute active class focusing on motor skills, for ages 5 –12, offered
in a six-week session.
Water-Cycling
This non-impact, high intensity, aquatic fitness class is great for improving
cardiovascular fitness and overall tone. Requires being suspended in deep water
with a floatation belt.
WW AquaFit
Moderate intensity aquatic fitness class in warm water pool. Great for improving
cardiovascular fitness and overall toning.
* Requires testing of skills and clearance from aquatic staff to participate
in this class.
Regularly Scheduled Aquatic Events
- Hydrostatic Weighing
– is the first Saturday of every month. During the this time the Therapy
Pool is unavailable from 8am – 12pm
- Aquatics 101 –
is the first Wednesday of every month from 5:30pm – 6:30pm. The description
of this class is on the back.
- Kidz Kub –
is an after school program for kids run through the activities department. Please
contact 624-3416 for more information.
- Kids Night Out
– 3rd Friday every month. Fun night for kids including a movie, dinner,
swimming fun and much more.
- Stroke & Turn Clinics
– 2nd Saturday of every month from 9:30am – Noon. Each month will
emphasize a different stroke. Contact the Aquatics Department for more information
624-3421.
