Aerobic Group Exercise Classes are offered in the two exercise studios, equipped with state-of-the-art
aerobic floor and stereo equipment. Classes at beginning, intermediate and advanced
levels are included in your membership and are taught by certified, professional
instructors. Classes offered include more than 70 aerobic classes and 60 aquatic
classes each week. The wide variety of classes will peak any interest ranging
from therapeutic aquatic classes to monthly specialty classes and more.
Class Descriptions
A.C.T. (Advanced Core Training)
This total body workout challenges advanced fitness levels by targeting the
deep supporting musculature of the shoulder, torso, and hips by incorporating
stability balls, bands, and various resistance. Participants should warm up
prior to class.
Body Bar Challenge
A full body weight resistance class
utilizing the Body Bar to sculpt and tone the entire body. This is a great class
for intermediate to advanced fitness levels.
Box N Kick
One hour class combining kick / boxing techniques for cardiovascular conditioning.
Breathing Easy (Pulmonary Rehab Phase II)
Graduation from phase I Pulmonary Rehab or doctors referral is required prior
to participating in this class.
Circuit Step
3-5 minutes of stepping with 1-3 minute intervals of weight resistance training.
Country-Western (C/W) Line Dancing
Single individuals in a line, needs no partner.
Extreme Spin
A one-hour intense cardiovascular and endurance class using a stationary bike.
This powerful and challenging class will give you a terrific workout. Appropriate
for all fitness levels. Intensity is individually controlled.
Fat Burner
A Lower intensity, longer aerobic class to maximize fat burning potential.
Functional Orthopedics
A 6-week self-progressive class focusing on development of the upper and lower
extremities, body positions, movement skills, core strengthening, flexibility,
stability, and balance. Perfect for anyone wanting to improve basic conditioning
and strength.
Healthy Heart
This class is specially designed for the post cardiac rehab patient and other
individuals with special needs. This 60-minute class includes a blood pressure
check, stretching, choice of cardiovascular exercise, and weight resistance
exercises. A fitness evaluation is required prior to participating in this class.
Karate
Kenbudokan Goju Ryu, a traditional martial art that stresses body conditioning,
self-defense, self confidence and self discipline.
Kids Karate
This kid's program teaches fundamental self-defense techniques in a game-oriented
atmosphere.
Low Impact
A lower intensity aerobic class for the majority of those starting an aerobics
program.
Maternity-in-Motion
Pre-natal class for women in all stages of pregnancy, whether they've been exercising
or not. Participants must pre-register for the class.
Osteo-Pilates*
Mat class including stretching and bone building Pilates exercises. This workout
aids in the prevention of osteoporosis and is safe for people suffering with
osteoporosis.
Pilates Mat*
A mat class emphasizing Pilates fundamentals,
principals, and basic exercise. Variations and modifications are given to accommodate
all levels and abilities. Props may be used when appropriate to enhance the
workout.
S. A. Q.
Designed for athletes, this speed,
agility, & quickness class focuses on specific movements that enhances the
athlete’s ability to read and react powerfully at the highest speed possible.
Classes held in the multi-purpose gymnasium.
Senior Fitness
A Lower intensity aerobic class for seniors and those with limited physical
abilities.
Sit N Be Fit
This half-hour class is instructed from a chair, for individuals with limiting
physical conditions. The class includes activities designed to improve strength
and flexibility, as well as enhancing healthy attitudes for fun and fitness.
Spin-N-Abs
A one-hour cardiovascular workout utilizing a stationary bicycle and incorporating
an abdominal exercise segment during the last half of class. Appropriate for
all fitness levels because intensity is individually controlled.
Spinning
A 40 minute cardiovascular and endurance class while using a stationary bike.
Appropriate for all fitness levels - intensity is set individually.
Spin-Circuit
A combination of cardiovascular intervals
of cycling with intervals of weight resistance training. Guaranteed to give
you a great full-body workout.
Step
This class is taught at an intermediate level. Attendance at a step orientation
class is strongly recommended before stepping. This class is for individuals
with varying fitness levels.
Steady Steps
A balance and coordination class focusing
on strengthening the different balance systems in the body by performing specialized
movements in a circuit format. There are also regularly scheduled balance assessments
to track the progress of each participant.
Step N Flex
A slower paced step class concentrating on muscle conditioning to increase muscular
tone through the use of correct form and technique.
Tai Chi
Combines self defense with physical
and mental fitness through slow continuous movements designed to impart powerful
physical skills and stimulate the flow of energy within the body.
Tricore
This functional class will focus on
strengthening your balance, stability and core strength by utilizing gliders,
resist-a-balls, and Bosu balls.
TLC Kidz Klub
A 45-minute class that focuses on motor skills, for children 5-12 years of age.
This class is offered in six-week sessions.
Yoga*
This Specific style of Hatha yoga will incorporate different poses to explore
the inner structures of the body, mind and spirit.
Instructors Certified by AFAA, ACE or COS
* These classes require participants
to be on time. For safety reasons, you will not be permitted to participate
in Yoga or Pilates if more than 5 minutes late.
