The Sleep Disorders Lab offers diagnostic studies to determine why people snore or have irregular breathing patterns that prohibit them from getting a good night's sleep. Patients are monitored during an eight-hour study by a pulmonary technologist on an outpatient basis through physician referral. While the patient is sleeping, several variables are monitored, including the heart rate, respiratory rate, brain waves, muscle movement, air movement and carbon dioxide build-up in the blood. Our lab is the only one in the San Joaquin Valley accredited by the American Sleep Disorders Association.
