Outpatient Specialty Clinics provides nursing assessments, therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, medical social services, dietician consults and screening. Clinical activities focus on assessment, planning, treatment, referral, and patient education. Patients are accepted by physician referral only. Multi-disciplinary clinical services provide a local setting for comprehensive screening, evaluation, follow-up and case management of the pediatric patient. Specialty clinics include, Pediatric Cardiology, Cleft Palate, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Pediatric Urology, High Risk Infant follow- up, Diet Counseling, Spina Bifida, Pediatric Neurology and Pediatric Neurosurgery, which are coordinated with Children's Hospital of Central California sub-specialists, located in Madera, CA, as well as local physician specialists.
Diabetes Center
The Diabetes Center, under the direction of a medical director, provides comprehensive education and management for adult and gestational diabetes. Services include Hemoglobin A1c, insulin training and management, continuous glucose monitoring, insulin pump training, foot screenings, medical social services, medical nutrition therapy, and education on all areas of diabetes. Clinical activities focus on assessment, planning, treatment, referral, and patient education. Patients are accepted by physician referral only. The Diabetes Center is recognized by the American Diabetes Association and is part of the Sweet Success Program for gestational patients. The Diabetes Center is staffed by Certified Diabetes Educators (a registered nurse and a registered dietitian) who work along with the patient's medical providers to promote better management of a rampant problem in our health care system today.
