A full range of outpatient services are offered at Kaweah Delta Rehabilitation Hospital and The Lifestyle Center for all age groups. Outpatient services are an important link between the acute in-patient setting and The Lifestyle Center in our total continuum of care. **Outpatient programs can be modified to meet individual patient needs. Comprehensive Rehabilitation Team consists of a Physiatrist (MD specializing in physical medicine and rehabilitation), Occupational Therapists (OT), Physical Therapists (PT), Speech Therapists (ST). Neuropsychologist, Social Worker, Case Manager, Recreational Therapists (RT), and Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurses (CRRN).
Kaweah Delta Hand Center
Staffed with the ONLY FIVE Certified Hand Therapists
in Tulare County. These and other Occupational Therapists treat patients with
upper extremity trauma or disability including Traumatic Hand Injuries, Fractures,
Tendon, Nerve, Joint Injuries, Arthritic Disorders, Amputations, Reflex Sympathetic
Dystrophy, Burn Injuries, and Lymphedema Management. For questions or referrals

Work Conditioning
An individually designed program that utilizes both physical and occupational therapy to return the injured client back to work. This program may include physical capacity evaluations, conditioning activities, body mechanics training, work site analysis, job coaching, and an education series focused on prevention and exercise training.
Pulmonary Rehabilitation
An individually tailored, multidisciplinary program that is formulated through accurate diagnosis, therapy, emotional support, and education that stabilizes or reverses both the physio and psychopathology of pulmonary diseases and attempts to return the patient to the highest possible functional capacity allowed by his pulmonary handicap and overall life situation. Criteria: Non-smokers where activities of daily living are severely limited by dyspnea due to chronic disabling respiratory disease. For further information call (559) 624-3906.
Pain Program Purpose of the program is to eliminate the adverse impact of chronic, unrelieved pain on the life of patients and their families through a comprehensive multidisciplinary pain management program. The goal is to assist the patient in achieving the highest day-to-day function with the lowest possible level of pain. For patients who have not responded to more traditional pharmacologic, surgical and medical approaches to pain relief. Patients can be referred to this program by a physician, self-referral, or other agency. Referrals can be made by calling (559) 624-3906.
Aquatic Therapy
An individualized aquatic therapy program is available through a physician's prescription for physical and/or occupational therapy. For further information call (559) 624-3906.
Swallowing Evaluations/Therapy
An individually designed program for clients who have difficulty swallowing due to neurological deficits or medical condition. Speech Therapists can perform on site dysphagia evaluations. Further clinical assessment available through a video fluroscopy under the direction of a Radiologist and Speech Therapist.
Pediatrics
Therapy program available for pediatrics in need of Physical, Occupational, and/or Speech Therapy (CCS certified staff). Focus on family/caregiver training for carry over of therapeutic/functional goals. Call (559) 624-3906.
Lymphedema Program
Complete decongestive therapy is a conservative treatment in which manual lymph drainage, bandaging, exercise and good skin care are incorporated to decrease and maintain the size of the affected limb or limbs. Services are provided by a therapist skilled in manual lymph drainage and complete decongestive therapy. This holistic, cost-effective service complements pre-existing services. It maximizes an individual's quality of life with an individualized treatment plan.
Low Vision
Occupational therapy can help increase safety and independence in the following areas often affected by low vision: self care, meal preparation, home management, medication management, reading, writing, leisure and community activities. This is accomplished by: Teaching the person to use their remaining vision as effectively as possible; Modifying activities so that they can be completed with less vision; and Training the person in the use of adaptive equipment to compensate for vision loss.
