Pediatric Gastroenterologists treat children with various digestive and nutritional illnesses. This would include food intolerances, food allergies, GERD, and various bowel diseases and disorders. Pediatric Gastroenterologists also manage and treat children with feeding tubes, intravenous nutrition, and liver disease. They are also trained in endoscopic procedures such as esophagogastroduodenoscopy and colonoscopy. As part of the grant, a pediatric endoscopy suite is available, complete with equipment to perform procedures on children. Nutritional services are also available in the clinic by a pediatric dietitian.
Comprehensive Obesity Program
The Exeter Pediatric Specialty Clinic offers a comprehensive obesity program with nutritional counseling and education open to all children. This multi-pronged family-centered intervention model includes both prevention and treatment goals for children and their parents. Children must be referred by the pediatric specialist that they are seeing.
