On Monday, March 24, Lindsay Mann, CEO of Kaweah Delta Health Care District, presented a proposal to the Board to change the organizations name, which, was approved. The organization name will NOT be changed from "Kaweah Delta Health Care District", but the hospital name will be changed from "Kaweah Delta District Hospital" to "Kaweah Delta Medical Center."
Kaweah Delta held focus groups with members of the community, medical staff and hospital employees, where it was determined that the name Kaweah Delta Health Care District is too cumbersome and does not reflect the mission and service of Kaweah Delta in a clear and concise way. The recommendation by all groups was to change the name to better reflect the scope of services provided as well as the high level of care performed at the hospital.
The name change will be unveiled throughout signage, branding, and communications with the grand opening of the North Expansion set to be ready in early 2009.
