April 2, 2009 we will be celebrating the opening of the new Kaweah Delta Exeter Pediatric Clinic which is located at our Exeter Health Clinic, 1014 San Juan Ave., Building C, Exeter, CA 93221. Ceremonies and a ribbon cutting with the Chamber of Commerce will begin at 5:00 p.m. Tours of the facility and a reception will immediately follow the presentation.
The exterior landscaping is attractive and the architecture both inside and out is modern and appealing. The layout of the facility is functional, well lit, and very nicely designed. We now have 13 patient rooms available for treatment areas, where we previously had only 9. This addition means shorter wait times for families bringing their children to the clinic.
A special thank you to the First 5 Tulare County Commission for their grant of $3,000,000. This funding made the implementation of the new pediatric clinic possible.
These funds were specifically created for a “home clinic” at the Exeter Health Clinic/Pediatric Center for the specialties of gastroenterology, endocrinology and developmental pediatrics. No longer will the children of Tulare County have to travel miles out of the area to access this care. Additionally, transportation services will be provided countywide. A comprehensive obesity program is included as well as outreach to primary care physicians to ensure a high quality, integrated system of patient care.
Lindsay Mann, CEO Kaweah Delta Health Care District spoke to the Commission and assured them that Kaweah Delta is “thrilled to continue a strong partnership with First 5 to deliver a wide range of pediatric specialty services at this Exeter clinic site.” Kaweah Delta and First 5 have a long standing track record with a variety of projects that incorporate resources and financial commitment from both entities to further their joint mission of improving health outcomes for Tulare County children from birth through age five.
The new Exeter Pediatric Clinic is a 4,000 square foot state of the art pediatric facility. It will house the new specialists that the project funds. As Steve Giuffrida, Director of Kaweah Delta Exeter Clinic states, “We are grateful and fortunate to have an organization such as First 5 Tulare County to support such a wonderful cause. With both our commitment and resources we will surely reach thousands of children needing specialized care.”
Patient’s can now enjoy a Rural Health Care Network that features high quality care in a localized setting. In addition to the Pediatric Clinic, Kaweah Delta Health Care District will soon open a rural health clinic in Lindsay, CA. This clinic is scheduled to open later this month.
