Chaplain Services

Kaweah Delta Health Care District supports and promotes a patient's need to express their religious or spiritual beliefs. As such we offer spiritual care through Pastoral Care Department.  Inter-faith chaplains are available to patients, families and staff 24-hours a day, seven days a week.

Chaplains serve each of our facilities, including Kaweah Delta Hospital, Kaweah Delta Rehabilitation Hospital and Kaweah Delta  Mental Health Hospital and our support services such as hospice and if needed, home health.

Some of the times that you may wish to contact a chaplain are: Prior to surgery, during hospitalization, during crisis, when you wish to connect with other people of your faith community.  A chaplain is one who can often help you to sort through some of the difficult decisions that you may face while at the hospital including end of life, organ donation and Advance Medical Directives.

To contact a Chaplain you may either dial the operator or dial the chaplain directly at (559) 624-2263 or contact a member of our staff for assistance.  A chaplain is usually available for immediate response to your request.

Our chapel is located at Kaweah Delta Hospital on the fourth floor. It is open to people of all faiths and is a wonderful place of quiet and solitude.

As part of the spiritual care that is offered we also have available lay ministry training. This is an eight-session course that helps train people how to visit patients on behalf of their church or congregation. The class is taught by members of the clergy in our community. Contact the Chaplain Services Department at (559) 624-2263 for more information on this course.
