Kaweah Delta Health Care District (KDHCD) will be welcoming the
charter class of its newly accredited Transitional Year (TY) Residency Program in
the 2015-2016 academic year. We will
begin interview season for our first class in the fall of 2014.
The TY Residency is a one-year program that offers 12 PGY1
positions through the National Resident Matching Program. It is accredited by the ACGME and is designed
to prepare any resident for the next stage of their training by providing a broad-based
clinical experience. The Transitional Year
residents at KDHCD will frequently rotate with residents from our other accredited
programs in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine and Psychiatry.
The appointed Program Director, Dr. Michael Stanley, is an
experienced Emergency Medicine academician, and as such, the experience of the TY
residents at this program will be solidly founded in the fundamental clinical
skills of the extensive field of Emergency Medicine. In addition, the curriculum offers over 25
elective rotations to help customize the training received in preparation for a
multitude of specialties. All TY
rotations are to be completed at Kaweah Delta Health Care District sites or
local ambulatory clinics.
Our sunny California location, combined with our experienced
and dedicated faculty at a busy community hospital, makes Kaweah Delta’s TY
program an attractive and competitive choice.
We encourage qualified applicants to apply!
