  • Why did you select Kaweah Delta’s residency program? I was excited about the opportunity to work in a strong community hospital program with a faculty that is excited about teaching residents. I also really wanted the chance to be the part of a first class of residents that would have the chance to help define the character of a residency program.
  • Why did you choose your specialty? 1) The breadth- I like the idea of being able to care for any patient that walks (or rolls) through the door. 2) The environment- I love the pace of the ED and the challenges that come with it, as well as the team-centered work that is inherent in Emergency Medicine. 3) The privilege of being on the front lines of health care and of being an important resource in what is often a time of crisis for individuals and families.
  • What was your impression of Visalia during your visit? A small city with great character, people who are very happy to be living there, and a short trip to the mountains!
  • What are your hobbies? Hiking, camping, cooking, gardening, home-brewing, photography, writing.
  • Other items you would like to share about yourself: I have a brand new baby girl, Penelope. I’m the only non-Californian native in my family: my wife is from Bakersfield, my daughter was born in Claremont, and the dog and cat are both from the Sierras near Yosemite.
