Kaweah Delta Hospital Foundation’s Annual Tommy Elliott Memorial Golf Classic is held the second Friday in August at the Visalia Country Club.
Over the years, Tulare County’s premier golfing event has raised over $700,000 for Kaweah Delta patient programs including emergency, pediatrics, heart surgery, breast cancer, cardiac rehabilitation, Sequoia Regional Cancer Center, the North Expansion, and the Lynn Havard Mirviss Nursing Education Center.
Tommy Elliott served on the Foundation board from 1978 until his death in 2004. The annual Golf Classic was one of Tommy’s favorite fundraising activities. From 1993 through 2004 Tommy and his late wife, Jean, co-sponsored the Golf Classic along with Visalia Community Bank. In 2004 the tournament was renamed for him. Tommy’s family has maintained his tournament sponsorship in partnership with Visalia Community Bank.
The Golf Classic has a six-person team format. Teams are formed though a “blind draw” based on each player’s handicap. Both men and women are welcome to play.
