This project now being constructed on Acequia Avenue in Visalia will provide much needed expansion and upgrading for three very important patient services – emergency, cardiac and maternity care.
By constructing the North Expansion’s tower on the north side of the hospital we have maximized our downtown campus and stretched out construction dollars to get the most value for our money. We have funded a large portion of the project with general obligation bonds created when our community generously passed Measure M in 2003 and with our own borrowing through revenue bonds.
Nevertheless, we need to raise more money to complete the North Expansion, and over two years ago we launched the Caring for the Future campaign. We have raised nearly $7.4 million from our community, our staff and our doctors, and we will continue to raise funds until the North Expansion is complete and all its bills are paid.
