VISALIA – Kaweah Delta Health Care District has released its most recent informational video, the “KD Newsreel” to inform the community about what the district is doing to meet earthquake safety standards and two upcoming community events. Earthquake Safety Standards
By 2030, all acute care hospitals in California must meet earthquake safety standards set by SB1953. That means that the Kaweah Delta Mineral King Wing, built in 1969, will either have to undergo extensive reconstruction or be replaced. While Kaweah Delta has concluded it would be wise to invest in replacing the Mineral King Wing, Kaweah Delta has engaged a firm specializing in these matters to confirm the need for a replacement facility.
Registration is now open for the 5K Harvest Run/Walk in Visalia presented by Kaweah Delta Health Care District and Visalia Runners on Saturday, Oct. 4, in Visalia. The event will take place at 8 a.m. at The Lifestyle Center, 5105 W. Cypress Ave. and will benefit patients of Sequoia Regional Cancer Center who are in need during the holidays. All finishers will receive a free medal, along with a photo and race/chip results by e-mail. Shirts will be given to the first 300 people to register for the event.
Additionally, save the date for Kaweah Delta’s Pink Tea Party for breast cancer awareness at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 4, at the Visalia Convention Center. Tickets are $25 and proceeds will go to Kaweah Delta’s Breast Center. There will be tea, music; breast cancer survivors honored and more. Information: 624-2463.
