VISALIA – During an open house on Tuesday, Nov. 19, Kaweah
Delta Porterville Dialysis will unveil a refurbished facility that has been
upgraded with state-of-the-art technology that will have a big impact on
The open house will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at Kaweah
Delta Porterville Dialysis, 385 N. Pearson Drive, Porterville.
The center, which offers hemodialysis and peritoneal
dialysis, has been refurbished with paint, new flooring and new cabinetry, but
its new state-of-the-art technology is what will stand out to patients, said Sonia
Duran-Aguilar, Nurse Manager of Kaweah
Delta Porterville Dialysis. The dialysis center has new machines, which increase
patient comfort by allowing precise water removal during dialysis.
Additionally, the center has new devices that are built into dialysis machines
that help prevent patients from experiencing low blood pressure during dialysis
and the side effects that can accompany it.
“We are one of two clinics in the state with this type of
technology in every one of our dialysis machines,” said Duran-Aguilar, noting that the other clinic is in Sacramento. “We’ve
made these improvements because we want our patients to get the best care and
be as comfortable as possible during dialysis.”
Additionally, the center now houses a blanket warmer along
with individual televisions at each patient station, Duran-Aguilar said.
Kaweah Delta Porterville Dialysis is celebrating 28 years of
providing service to the community in Porterville. This 18-chair, two-bed
center provides hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis, and blood transfusions with
a nurse to patient ratio of 1 to 5. It is open from 4:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on
Monday, Wednesday and Friday; 4:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Thursday and
