VISALIA – Tulare County residents who are having trouble sleeping or know someone who has a sleep disorder are invited to attend Kaweah Delta’s A.W.A.K.E support group on Monday, June 17, in Visalia.
The support group is called A.W.A.K.E. because it is helps people stay alert, well and keep energetic. The group will discuss the topic, “Living with Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP)” from 5:30-7 p.m. Meeting will take place inside the Acequia Wing Conference Room located on the first floor of Kaweah Delta Medical Center on Acequia Avenue.
Approximately 40 million people in the U.S. are diagnosed with sleep disorders each year. The long-term effects of a sleep disorder can be serious and include heart attack, diabetes, stroke, high blood pressure and more.
Established in 1963, Kaweah Delta Health Care District is
celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2013. Kaweah Delta is a 581-bed
district and is the only level III trauma center serving Tulare and Kings
