North Expansion Facts:
Bed Capacity:
• Initially 83 new beds, 135-new beds total upon completion
Cardiac Services Program:
• New operating room, cath labs, 20-bed ICU
Maternity Services:
• 43 New private beds
Emergency Department:
• Six trauma bays will be added, an additional six beds pre-planned
Cost:
• $143.2 million spent on the project, with $18 million going toward the latest technology
Funding:
• From a variety of places including the passing of Measure M, and the Kaweah Delta Hospital Foundation
We’re growing! In recent years, Kaweah Delta has provided an increasingly complex level of services to record numbers of inpatient, outpatient and Emergency Department visitors. Surgical, medical, cardiology, oncology and Emergency Department services at the downtown campus have grown significantly because of increased population and the closure of several smaller area hospitals.
Currently, a major expansion to better serve our patients is now underway. A regional heart center and expanded maternity, emergency and cardiac services are part of the plan. The North Expansion will increase capacity and provide better patient access to the facility over the next several years.
