Nearly 15 years after establishing its open-heart surgery program, Kaweah Delta has been nationally recognized, has performed more than 6,000 open-heart surgeries and is the ninth busiest hospital in the state. Now under the leadership of two experienced and talented cardiothoracic surgeons including former Mayo Clinical Associate Sergio Caminha, MD, and Leheb Araim, MD (Kaweah Delta physician of the year 2010), our program offers patients a full range of cardiovascular services at our state-of- the-art facility, the Acequia Wing at Kaweah Delta Medical Center.

Kaweah Delta has made a name for itself as the region’s leader in cardiac care through the support of board-certified cardiologists, cardiothoracic surgeons, and vascular surgeons who work with Kaweah Delta’s dedicated heart team. This team is made up of physicians who help provide you with 24-hour medical care before and after surgery, prefusionists (highly-specialized health professionals qualified to take care of your heart and lungs) and registered nurses specially trained to care for critical care patients.
