General
Families that are
looking to get healthy together have until Friday, March 15, to enroll in The
Lifestyle Center’s upcoming “Healthy Habits: TAKE CHARGE!” weight management
program.
Participants of
the six-week program benefit from the expertise of fitness and nutrition
professionals and learn how to take control of their food and exercise habits
while improving self-esteem. Classes will take place from 5:30-7:30 p.m. on six
consecutive Tuesdays. The Lifestyle Center is the only medically-based fitness
facility in the Central Valley offering this program for children, teens and
their families under the direction of a Registered Dietitian. Each family
receives 12 months of ongoing support following the class series. A limited number of scholarships are available (restrictions apply).
“This is a great
opportunity for children, teens, and parents or other caregivers to learn how
to make healthy lifestyle changes together,” said Alana Unger, Registered
Dietitian at The Lifestyle Center, noting that one in six American children are
obese and up to 70 percent of them will become obese adults. “This program is
about adopting healthy habits now so that children become healthy adults.”
